The BYU Free Project chapter has 15 active members dedicated to making real change. In the 2014-2015 school year, the BYU chapter will host two fundraisers and participate a multi-club event for women’s issues on their campus. They are using old and new technologies to get the word out about their events, taking advantage of social media and print media with gusto. In particular, they’ve worked with the BYU IT Department to advertisement on school computer screens, thereby spreading their anti-slavery activism with just the click of a button. Additionally, they represent their cause in person whenever possible, setting up booths at various BYU events. The BYU Free Project chapter is passionate about getting students excited and committed, a task that requires not just raising awareness but doing “real things”.
